In honour of International Women’s Day, I thought we could focus on the growing statistics that show single women as a growing, and tough negotiating, buying power in the world of real estate.
Lover’s of HGTV will be familiar with Sandra Rinomato, the host of a few real estate inspired shows. Well, read this excerpt from THIS article:
“In the early 1970s, Sandra Rinomato’s aunt decided she wanted to buy a condo. She had some money put aside, but when it came time to get a mortgage, she was told flatly, “We don’t give mortgages to women on their own.” In the end, the deal never went through.”
Wow. Brutal. Almost seems like women’s rights never happened in this country. Sister suffragettes were surely protesting from the great beyond over this.
